Kogi: Persons Living With Leprosy Seeks Appointment, Employment for Its Members

The Kogi State Chairman, Association of Persons Living with Leprosy, Alhaji Bello Jibrin, has called on the state government to grant its members appointments.

At a one-day media dialogue in Lokoja on Friday, Jibrin lamented the stigmatization and discrimination against persons living with leprosy in the state.

He disclosed that leprosy is not a communicable disease, lamenting the ignorance that his members are being discriminated against.

He called on the government to assist members affected with employment and appointment, called on people to stop the stigmatization against persons living with leprosy.

The chairman thanked Leprosy Mission Nigeria for its support for her members and called on the state government to signed the recently passed bill on persons with disabilities to law.
