When you want to build and empower a society, educate the people by building schools and institution of educational improvement not building prisons and rehab centers.

But in Kogi state the reverse is the case where the government of Yahaya Bello, after two years in office, has completely destroyed the school system of the state from the elementary to the tertiary level. No school building constructed, no instructional and learning aid to schools, teacher are not been paid, etc but the same government commission a drug rehabilitation center for youths to mark its second year anniversary.

A drug rehabilitation center????????

What do you expect for a government that has turned the youths into drugs addicts and used as political thugs. Buying of okada for youths, discouraging them from farming, encouraging them to drop out of school, that is if the schooling system is functional.

The fortunate youths are given laptops, iPad and other electronic gadgets to become disoriented e-thugs with specialty of abusing, insulting any any body presumed to be an opposition to the government. This is coupled with them becoming professional praise singers in the face of hunger and poverty ravaging the land.

The situation is the same everywhere in Kogi state; from Lokoja, Ankpa, Olamaboro, Idah, Okene, Adavi, Okehi, Ofu etc.

Youths are now been turned into perceptual drugs addicts and used as political thugs to oppress, kill and slaughter. Young boys are becoming school dropouts and embracing okada riding as a profession.

The most affected local government in Kogi state is Olamaboro local government courtesy of their son, Edward Onoja, the chief pilot of the new direction agenda and movement.

The socio-intellectual damages done to the mentality of the youths by the new direction government headed by Yahaya Bello will take many years for successive administrations to surmount via deliberate and conscious efforts, policies and programs.

Youths, the destiny of our dear state is in your hands. Let’s use our PVCs to dis-infect Lugard House come 2019.
