Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi state on Wednesday said Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, national leader of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) respects him as the governor of Kogi state and as President Muhammadu Buhari’s political son.
The governor spoke through Kingsley Fanwo, his Director General, Media Publicity to Kogi State when he appeared as a guest on Channels television programme ‘Politics Today’.
When asked if Governor Bell’s second term is not being threatened by Tinubu, Fanwo said “Governor Yahaya Bello has tremendous respect for Asiwaju Bola Tinubu. Asiwaju Tinubu too also respects Governor Yahaya Bello as the governor of Kogi state and as the political son of President Muhammadu Buhari”.
Meanwhile, Governor Yahaya Bello has declared his interest to contest for a second term in office.
The governor’s decision was contained in a statement issued by Onogwu Muhammed, his chief press secretary, on Wednesday.
The governor was quoted as saying he decided to seek a second term after consulting his family and political stakeholders.
