‘No condition is permanent’ – Dr Nnamdi Azikiwe (ZIK of AFRICA).

His Excellency, Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello
Executive Governor of Kogi State,
Lugard House, Lokoja.

Your Excellency,

We greet you from overseas, your subjects in diaspora. We commend you for your efforts so far. Your coming has now strengthened us to strive to rule Kogi State for 16 years.

Your recent strides – The Confluence University of Science and Technology and Reference Hospital, all in the Central Senatorial district, have continued to gladden our hearts. Please do something about water for the people of the State.

To crown it all, your desire to take the shot at the nation’s Presidency is a welcome development. One of us once told us that he had a dream of an Ebira Presidency, just as we got on a platter of gold, Chief of Army Staff and Inspector General of Police in the early 90s.

The foregoing are areas that should naturally engage the attention of all your political appointees. But most of them are working against you.

Why Open Old Wound?

When you were elected governor, the whole world saw it as a divine intervention. The problem two brothers (clans), Eyire and Ehebe, had in the past was put behind us by your intervention. You have said it openly that in order to heal the wounds caused by the misunderstanding, the two clans should be encouraged to continue to engage in inter-clan marriages. This statement was magnified when in 2017 you graciously witnessed IRENOUHI OKUKU ODENKU’s display where you ‘sprayed’ some cars and money on selected individuals. That was leadership per excellence.

Your Chief of Staff, Pharmacist Abdulkarim Jamiu Asuku is being accused of fanning theembers of disunity.

The Ohindase crisis which openly affected Eyire and Omavi clans and which spilled over to Ehebe then is being allegedly acted via a script written by your Chief of Staff (an Omavi).

As an accidental politician, he should learn from his senior brothers, Alh. Atabaand late Senator A. T. Ahmed, a political icon worthy of emulation. He is too small to veer into that area. What Eyire did to protect the late Ohimoyi of Ebira land, Alh. Sani Muhammad Omolori (of blessed memory) when he was installed, is history but cannot be obliterated.

Today is known, tomorrow is too gloomy to be dissected.

In the words of our late sage and President, Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe “no condition is permanent”.

One major accusation against your Chief of Staff is that all kidnap cases involving Eyire sons were the handiwork of the Pharmacist turned politician, though somepeople accuse you as being aware of those happenings. And as God will have it, people so accused wrongly or otherwise are at liberty to defend themselves.

Majority of citizens of the Central are Ebira and if they are involved in politics, though in different political parties, peace and love should be seen to reign. There were other parties when you won the election, having come second in the primaries.

Please, Your Excellency should look at this situation: why is it that it is people of Eyire extraction that are being currently arrested or kidnapped? You have received awards for security. You should not allow any of your appointees to give your government a bad name. Your Excellency should check their excesses.

We also use this opportunity to urge Mr. Accountant- General of the State, who happens to be Eyire, to intervene so as not to be tagged an accomplice.

We also wish to use this opportunity to commiserate with you over the death of one of your subject, our brother, Alh. Sule Aliu, the Ohiekura of Ebira land.

Prayers:

Your Excellency should use your good office to right the wrongs and move Ebiraland, Kogi and Nigeria forward. Your appointees should be advised to tolerate one another for good – the coming PRESIDENCY.

Conclusion:

For your information, the undersigned are all in the diaspora; Canada, USA, Turkey, Japan, UK, Germany and Iran. We also belong to Omavi, Eyire, Ehebe, Omoye, Ogu, Asuwe and Akuta. In our various places, we see ourselves as Ebira, but for this exercise, we got clan representatives to sign the letter.

We have almost concluded plans to launch YAHAYA BELLO FOR NIGERIA’s PRESIDENCY in Japan to be replicated in the USA and other important cities in the world. If you have the time, we may extend invitation to you.

We wish you a memorable tenure devoid of kidnappings, clannish troubles, political vendetta and unlawful arrests.

Signed:
