The Ogori Muslim Community has finalized plans to officially launch its flagship Central Mosque Project, an initiative designed to provide a modern place of worship while advancing social unity and peaceful coexistence across Kogi State.
According to a statement issued by the project’s Publicity and Media Committee, the fundraising and launching ceremony will take place on Saturday, September 26, 2026, beginning at 10:00 a.m. at the National Open University Study Centre in Ogori.
Organizers described the project as a critical landmark intervention aimed at meeting the growing spiritual needs of the local Muslim faithful. Beyond serving as a house of prayer, the proposed facility will function as a hub for religious education, youth moral development, and civic engagement, fostering deeper bonds of brotherhood and mutual respect among residents of Ogori and surrounding communities.
The leadership of the Ogori Muslim Community extended a broad invitation to traditional rulers, government officials, political figures, religious leaders, and business executives to attend the landmark gathering. The group appealed to philanthropists, corporate organizations, and well-meaning members of the public to support the effort through financial and material donations to ensure the timely completion of the sanctuary.
