Match Preview: Kada City vs Kogi United

Kogi United will travel to Ahmadu Bello Stadium, Kaduna to engage newly assembled Kada City in the continuation of 2017/2018 Bet9ja Nigeria National League, NNL season on Friday.

The encounter will herald other mouthwatering Matchday Four fixtures slated for the weekend across the country.

Both sides are meeting for the first time which makes the encounter more historical, but not with personnel to prosecute the match in terms of players and coaches.

Head Coach of Kogi United, Tunde Abdulrahman, though a Kwaran as indigene, but he’s is a known figure in the crocodile city with his exploits in the Round leather object.

Coach Abdulrahman has formerly handled few Kaduna based clubs including Kaduna United and Ranchers Bees at different occasions.

On the other side, Coach Shola Ibrahim Adewuyi of Kada City was a known face in Lokoja as he was an assistant to Fatai Osho at Kogi United in the 2015 NNL season before handling the state owned Women team, Confluence Queens a year later.

On the part of players, the fixtures will provide reunion of old friends with the likes of Bolaji Micheal, John Bello of Kada Stars facing their former team mates at one time during their spells at Kogi United.

Kogi United captain, Stephen Musa, Sunday Stephen and Salisu Ogbe will also be making a return to their familiar ground where they horned their football skills.

Meanwhile, Kogi United’s defender Abubakar Danlami has talked up his side’s target of picking the match points against their hosts on Friday believing the club’s recent form would count as motivation to achieve the feat.

Danlami told Kogi United Media that the team has been inspired by their current position status to record success even though he’s envisaging a tough duel against Kada.

“We want to continue where we stopped last week which is getting decent results against Kada, we are in good spirit and top shape now and finding ourselves on top of the table is enough motivation for us to keep on playing well and getting better results, home or away to remain there.

“Kada Stars may look new but they’ve some good players that can deliver and we will be ready to give our all against them, we know it won’t be easy but it’s what we have to do to achieve our target,” Danlami said.

The match is billed to take place at the training pitch of Ahmadu Bello Stadium, Kaduna by 4pm in Friday.
