Full List: Prince Abubakar Audu University Senate Graduates 44 First-Class Students, Withdraws 56, Expels One

The Senate of Prince Abubakar Audu University (PAAU), Anyigba, Kogi State, has approved the graduation of 44 students with First-Class Honours for the 2025/2026 academic session.

However, in a firm enforcement of academic regulations, the university authority also sanctioned 57 students—approving the withdrawal of 56 students over academic failure and non-registration, while expelling one student for gross examination malpractice.

These decisions were ratified during the 168th Regular Meeting of the institution’s Senate on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, following the consideration and approval of the 2025/2026 second-semester examination results submitted across various faculties and departments.

According to an official statement issued by the Director of Public Affairs, Uredo Omale, the approval followed the consideration of reports submitted by the university’s Results Verification Committee and the Examination Misconduct Committee.

The First-Class Graduands

Leading the institution’s academic performance were 44 graduands across several departments, including Forestry, Physiology, Economics, Biochemistry, and Accounting, who earned First-Class Honours:

In a major purge of academic deficiencies, 56 students were instructed to withdraw from the university in line with PAAU’s Academic Regulations.

A breakdown shows that 11 students were withdrawn due to poor academic performance:

Furthermore, the Senate adopted the findings of its Examination Misconduct Committee and approved the immediate expulsion of Jude Ojoajogwu Itodo (Matriculation No. 26PL1068) of the Department of Plant Sciences and Biotechnology over gross examination malpractice.

Management Reaffirms Commitment to Standards

Speaking at the meeting, the Vice-Chancellor and Chairman of Senate, Prof. Salisu Ogbo Usman, commended the Results Verification Committee and the Examination Misconduct Committee for their diligence, objectivity, and dedication to safeguarding academic standards.

Prof. Usman extended special congratulations to the 44 First-Class graduands, praising their discipline and outstanding academic performance. He described their success as an inspiration and urged them to remain proud ambassadors of the institution.

Reiterating the management’s resolve to uphold quality assurance, Prof. Usman stressed that while the university will maintain an enabling environment for learning, students must stay dedicated and abide strictly by university regulations.

The university administration has directed all withdrawn and expelled students to immediately surrender all university property—including identification cards and official items—to the Security Unit prior to their exit from the campus.
