Kogi State Governor, Alh Yahaya Bello has advised newly married couples to consecrate their marriage in God so as to lay a solid foundation for their union.
The governor gave the charge in Kano, on Saturday, after attending the wedding Fatiha between Usman Shugaba, his Aide de Camp and Miss Aisha Abdulfatah Mohammed at the Al-Furqan Mosque, Nasarawa, Kano.
Governor Bello said any marriage built on the love of God will bring manifold blessing to the couples including children who will grow up to become responsible citizens.
While congratulating the couple, the governor charged them to put God first in everything they do, so as to have a lasting union.
He charged the couple to seek advice from each other and avoid taking their complaints to a third party.
Mr and Mrs Shugaba were joined as husband and wife by the Chief Imam of the Mosque, Alhaji Abubakar after they had exchanged marital vows.
