President, Nigerian Grassroots Entertainers, Ogbe Reuben Walter, a.k.a MC Walter said the reasons behind the release of his latest hit song making waves across the media, ‘Gwakama,’ was in view of his conviction that his state government of Kogi under Governor Yahaya Bello was having positive impact on the youths and the hitherto under served population of the state.

He told our reporter in an exclusive interview in Lokoja that the entertainment industry in Kogi State, especially the grassroots aspect, was enjoying generous attention in such a way that if that was the case under previous administrations, the industry would have grown beyond what it present is.

MC Walter said President Muhammadu Buhari was running a programme different from what Nigerians had been used to, which was a corrupt system that had created a lot of holes and enmeshed the country in several problems, including the recession that Buhari helped steer the nation out of.

To him, the effort to salvage Nigeria by ensuring the corrupt elements fighting the system were not allowed back to power required all efforts that would sensitize the people and encourage those in the saddle, such as Governor Yahaya Bello and President Buhari to continue their ppro-masses projects.

The entertainer, who is more famous for his comic stage performances said ‘Gwakama’ which literally means ‘deal with them’ in Igala language, was his way of encouraging Governor Bello to forget ahead with his developmental projects and pay deaf ears to his detractors.

“I am convinced beyond any doubt that four more years of President Buhari and Governor Bello would so much difference for Kogi State and Nigeria and that is why I did that song. Whatever it would take to encourage both federal and state governments is what I am doing as a person.”

MC Walter added that the state needed such brave leader as Governor Bello because it was people like him that could help Kogi navigate through the developmental challenges being faced, especially the problem of civil service reform, economic development, tackling of unemployment and youth restiveness among others.

The Gwakama crooner therefore enjoined the people of the state to continue to give their unalloyed support to the administration of Yahaya Bello in the state and President Muhammadu Buhari for another terms.
