Hajiya Aishat Oyiza Omade, Director-General and Chief Executive Officer of the Kogi State Social Investment Programme Agency (KOSSIPA), has called on political office holders and leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to prioritise grassroots empowerment, generosity and people-oriented leadership ahead of the forthcoming local government elections and the 2027 general elections.
Omade made the call while addressing stakeholders at the Okehi Local Government Area APC stakeholders’ meeting held in Obangede, Kogi State, where she emphasised the importance of unity, peace and collective commitment to the party’s electoral success.
Speaking on the need for political office holders to give back to the people, she urged leaders to ensure that the benefits of governance reach party faithful and ordinary citizens at the grassroots.

“We were all broke 10 years ago before this government, so spread the money to the people at the grassroots. Let the people feel you,” she said, stressing that political leadership should translate into tangible benefits for the people who support the party.
She noted that supporting party members, empowering communities and demonstrating genuine concern for the welfare of the people would strengthen the APC’s grassroots structures and enhance its chances of victory in future elections.
The KOSSIPA boss also called on party leaders and faithful in Okehi LGA to put aside their differences, embrace peaceful coexistence and work together towards achieving success in the forthcoming local government elections and the 2027 general elections.
Omade used the opportunity to commend the Governor of Kogi State, His Excellency, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, for his developmental projects across Okehi Local Government Area, particularly the rehabilitation of the Okehi LGA Secretariat in Obangede.
She described unity, grassroots engagement and people-centred leadership as critical ingredients for sustaining the party’s political strength and building a stronger relationship between the government and the people.
The meeting brought together party stakeholders and leaders to deliberate on party unity, grassroots mobilisation and strategies for strengthening the APC ahead of the forthcoming elections.
