#KogiDecides: INEC to Deploy 12,120 Officers for Kogi Election

The Independent National Electoral Commission is to deploy 12,120 personnel for the conduct of the Kogi State governorship election.

The elections are scheduled for November 21, 2015.

 

The commission, in a document obtained by our correspondent in Abuja on Wednesday, said it would deploy 12,120 officers, while it would send 9,827 officers for the Bayelsa governorship election.

A breakdown of personnel to be deployed in the Kogi governorship election is as follows: Returning Officer (one), LGA Collation Officers (21), Registration Area Collation Officers (239), Supervisory Presiding Officers (255), Presiding officers, who are members of the National Youth Corp Members ( 2,548), Assistant Presiding Officers (I,II, and III) (7,644) and Assistant Presiding Officers (883).

Others are Reserve APOs (5 per cent ) of APOs (NYSC) (426), LGA Supervisors plus Head Quarters 1 Reserve (22), Registration Area Cluster Supervisors + HQ 1 Reserve (80) and Constituency Supervisor (one).

Meanwhile, the commission has said it would commence distribution of Permanent Voter Cards in Kogi State on Friday 6th of November.

It said this was to ensure eligible Nigerians, who registered in the recently conducted Continuous Voter Registration, participated in the governorship elections.

The exercise in Kogi is scheduled for Friday, 6th November to Wednesday 11th November.

It said the distribution of PVCs in both states would commence at 8am daily and end at 4pm at the ward level.
