The Presidency has directed the Federal Ministry of Works to report on the status of the Anyigba–Dekina–Shintaku Road project in Kogi East and to take steps to speed up its completion.

The directive follows renewed appeals from Senator Isah Jibrin, who represents Kogi East in the Senate and is popularly known as Echocho. He asked for immediate intervention over what he described as a prolonged delay in executing the project.

The Federal Ministry of Works is expected to clarify the road’s current status and set out the measures needed to move it toward completion.

The road is a key transport link for communities in Kogi East. It carries people, agricultural produce and commercial goods across the district. Its completion is expected to improve connectivity, ease transportation difficulties and boost economic activity.

Echocho has continued to engage relevant government offices and authorities, pressing for sustained attention to critical infrastructure projects across Kogi East.
