A group, National Coalition of Kogi Youth For Change (NCKYC)  has commended the Administrator  of Ijumu Local Government, Hon. Taufiq Isa for initiating employment generation schemes for youths in the area.

The President of the group, Mr Dare Michael made the commendation on Thursday in Lokoja while addressing a press conference.
Michael said that the agriculture and road rehabilitation programmes embarked upon by Isa had engaged a number of youths in the council area and Okunland in general.

He, however, urged him to extend the road rehabilitation program to cover all the wards in the council.
The group called on the Administrator not to relent and urged him to engage  youths as members of vigilante committees being planned for the council.

Michael who is a youth leader in Kabba/Bunu Local Government area of the state urged Isa to use his contacts within and outside the state to attract development to Okunland.
While a passing a vote of confidence on Isa, Dare pleaded with the state governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello to help in resolving issues that led to the recent suspension of five local government administrators by the state house of assembly.

He said that the suspension should not be allowed to linger for long as this may degenerate to security problems for the state.

According to him, over 300,000 people living in the affected councils will be badly affected by the suspension if it is not lifted immediately.
