Gov Bello Promises to Partner Kogi Newspaper Publishers

The Kogi State Government has pledged to partner with publishers of Community Newspapers towards making sure government activities are felt at the grassroots.

The Director General, Media and Strategies to the state governor, Mr Kingsley Fanwo stated this at a meeting with Publishers of Community Newspapers in the State held at the Nigeria Union of  Journalists, NUJ, Press Centre, Lokoja.

Mr Fanwo disclosed that while the present administration is working tirelessly to revert the underdevelopment faced by the state, those efforts can only be made known to the people through the use of community newspapers.

The DG Media and Strategies described community newspapers as powerful and a veritable tool in driving government programs.

He assured that the state government will henceforth strengthen its patronage of the community newspapers with a view to making its programs reach the doorsteps of the people.

While he called on the publishers to see the task of moving the state forward as a collective responsibility, he solicited for their support towards making the state attain the new direction vision of the Governor Bello administration.

Earlier in a remarks, the Chairman of the Federated Chapel, Mr Abu Michael, described the present administration as one that requires the support of all and sundry. He assured of a working partnership with the government towards making it programs known to all segments and places of the state.

The meeting which was attended by Mrs Petra Akinti Onyegbule, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, the SSA on New  Media, Joel Odaudu and Mr Ademu Idakwo, the SSA on Print Media.
