Kogi West Senatorial aspirant, Omoluabi Bode Adeyemi has unveiled one year scholarship award to the best pupil in Mathematics and English Language in honour of his headmaster Hon (Elder) Olorunsola and in loving memory of his former headmistress, late Olori Sumonu at St Joseph Primary School, Itedo-Isanlu, Yagba East LGA.
The scholarship scheme declaration took place during the Graduation and Price giving day of St Joseph Primary school, Itedo Isanlu, Yagba East LGA where Omoluabi was decorated as Chairman of the day and most distinguished alumnus of the school.
The event which had the Isanlu traditional leaders, elders and political players in attendance was also made glamorous by the calibre of representation Omoluabi had on ground.
On Omoluabi’s entourage were a former Yagba East LGA Council member and current Vice Chairman of PDP in Yagba East, Hon Ekundayo Aiyedogbon (Lobinto), Chief Samuel Ajare, Hon Bidemi of Igbaruku, Yagba West and a host of others.
The high point of the event was the presentation of the Omoluabi Scholarship award for best pupil in Mathematics and English Language, there was a reminiscence of joy and sober mood as Omoluabi announced the best student in mathematics award as Pa Olorunsola Award for best pupil in Mathematics and best English student award as Late Olori Sunmonu Award for best student in English language for their ingenuous and parental role over him during his primary school days.
He said one of the ways to appreciate the effort of those who laboured to educate you is to remember to honour them and make their name indelible like we are doing today.
As part of his efforts at promoting educational development through provision of free learning materials to public schools, Omoluabi Bode Adeyemi gave out hundreds of free notebooks as presented by his own headmaster, Pa Olorunsola.
While reacting to the philanthropic gesture of Omoluabi Bode Adeyemi, the Head Mistress of the school described Omoluabi as a man of unusual heart of giving, she said the school is proud to have produced a great ambassador like Omoluabi Bode Adeyemi.
Omoluabi has also promised to unveil the secondary school version of the award at St Barnabas Secondary School, Kabba. He vow to carry out school renovation project when schools are back from holidays.
