The Secretary of Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) campaign committee for Ijumu local government area of Kogi State, Prince Jambright Sumanu has alerted that the opposition is breeding and parading thugs in a bid to scare voters from coming out during the forthcoming local government election in Ijumu.
Prince Jambright, who is also the Senior Special Assistant to Kogi State Governor on Public Private Partnership (PPP), in an exclusive interview with Kogireports.com said the main opposition in Ijumu, Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) lacks confidence in their electoral acceptability and that’s why they have resorted to litigation before election.
The enigmatic politician wondered why ACN is fielding Mr. Olumoko who is from Ekinrin Adde when they are aware of the existing rotation principle in the local government. Based on the age-long rotation principle, it is the turn of Iyamoye to lead the local government.
“The PDP Chairmanship candidate, Dr Remi Odutola, is from Iyamoye and his candidature has placed PDP in pole position to win the forthcoming LG election in Ijumu, he said
“Ijumu is known for peace and the recent resort to thuggery by some politicians is alien to our culture and politics. A few persons cannot lord over majority, it is not possible
Hon Jambright urged electorates to come out and exercise their franchise without fear.

He counselled politicians to see power as a gift from God.
ACN’s candidate, who incidentally is the former Liaison Officer 1 (LO1) has served as a Caretaker Chairman for Ijumu LGA before his recent reign as LO1.
