Kogi Gov’ship: ‘There’s Urgent Need to Take Our State Back’, AAC Candidate, Achimugu

The candidate of African Action Congress (AAC), Mr. Austin Abu Achimugu has called on the electorate to rise up and take Kogi back from those has kept the state in abject poverty.

Addressing party stakeholders and supporters during the his official unveiling by the party in Lokoja on Saturday, Achimugu promised to revamp the ailing Kogi economy if elected as the governor of the state come November 2023.

Achimugu, who was unveiled alongside his running mate, Deji Bamidele, said Kogi has been ripped off of its prosperity and there is urgent need to take the state back now.

He told the large crowd of supporters that AAC is on a rescue mission in Kogi state.

He pointed out that the time has come to collaborate with the people of the State to move Kogi to next pedestal, stressing that if elected as governor the people’s contributions will be fulcrum of his administration.

“Our administration will be people oriented and will jointly move them out of the current poverty level.

“Kogi State need structural adjustment and my administration would also ensure conducive environment for the youth to make impact on governance.

“They have weaponized poverty in the state. I am prepared to take Kogi out of the woods.

“We will ensure people from this great state are proud of where they come from. We want to build a state where every indigene will be proud to associate with Kogi state anywhere in the world.

“Education, health sectors would be given more priority in the ACC administration in Kogi State,” he said.

Engr. Deji Bamidele, the deputy governorship candidate, expressed gratitude for the trust placed in him by Achimugu and the party’s stakeholders.

He emphasized their determination to win the election, insisting that there are no underdogs in the current political landscape.

Bamidele urged the 21 local government chairmen and executives of the party to take ownership of the campaign, promising to establish a campaign council and develop a roadmap to secure victory in the upcoming days.

In his remarks, the state chairman of African Action Congress, Monday Gabriel, said Achimugu/Bamidele are the candidates to beat in November.

He urged party members to take the message of Achimugu/Bamidele to all nooks and crannies of the state.
