Alhabibiyyah in Kogi Marks 11th Anniversary, Pray for State, Country

Alhabibiyyah Islamic Society of Nigeria has held a special prayer session to mark its 11th Year Anniversary since it was founded in the state.

The prayer session held on Sunday in Lokoja, the state capital.

In his opening address, the Imam of Jamaatu Nasril Islam (JNI) in Kogi State, Alhaji Tauheed Uthman urged members to continue to hold on to the tenets of Alhabibiyyah by holding onto prayers. 

He used the example of Prophet Yunus as narrated in the Qur’an as an example, noting that while Yunus in the belly of the whale,  offered prayers for Allah to instruct the sea creature to take him to the shore.

He enjoined Muslims not to wait until they were into problems to remember Allah, stressing the need for them to always pray for Allah to assist them at the point of their needs. 

Imam Tauheed encouraged  members of the group to continue to pray for themselves, their families and the society at large for the progress of the faith and general development.

Also speaking, the Imam of Alhabibiyyah in Kogi State, Alhaji Ghali Ibrahim Yabagi stated that Alhabibiyyah in the state remains a spiritually inspired movement, noting that it was the spirituality that had taken the body thus far. 

He noted that for eleven years, the body has gone through many changes, ranging from venue of activities, membership composition and all things spiritual, stressing that Allah has helped them to achieve a lot within their eleven years of existence.

Imam Ghali thanked notable personalities in the state, including the former Commissioner for Health in the state, Hon Suleiman Baba-Ali and Abuja based industrialist, Hon Zakari Ola for their assistance towards the success of the Anniversary Celebration.

Speaking, the administrative secretary of Kogi State Council of Ulama’a, Alhaji Idris Babaango expressed gratitude to Alhabibiyyah in the state for their forthrightness and dedication to prayers for the development of the state. 

He particularly referenced the last election which was held in a conducive and peaceful manner to ensure that November election in the state is also successful.

Alhaji Babaango thanked the body for the manner they have conducted themselves, noting that other Islamic bodies are proud of them.

Highlights of the occasion was prayers for all segments of the society which were anchored by various Islamic Scholars at the occasion.
