Hon Zakari Condemns Kidnap of CUSTECH Students, Sympathize With Parents, School Authority

Member representing Okene II Constituency in the Kogi State House of Assembly, Hon. Zakari Yusuf (Nescafe) has condemned in strong terms the attack on Confluence University of Science and Technology, Osara where a number of students were abducted. Some of the students who are said to be preparing for their first semester exams were whisked away by criminals on Thursday 9th May, 2024 at about 8:30PM.

The lawmaker who was among government officials that visited the school shortly after the incidence sympathize with the management, parents and members of the university community over the unfortunate incidence.

Earlier, Hon. Zakari along side the state Commissioner of Police, CP Bertrand Onuoha, Commissioners of Information & Education Kingsley Fanwo and Wemi Jones respectively were conducted round the scene of the sad incidence by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Abdulrahaman Salawu.

Zakari commended the swift response of the various security agencies particularly the local hunters and vigilantes who were already in hot pursuit of the criminals with the aim of bringing our students back unhurt. He expresses sympathy to the parents of the abducted students and urged them to remain calm with strong believe that the state government will do everything possible to bring back their loved ones safely.

“With the various security strategies deplored so far by the state government backed with massive collaboration of all security agencies, the criminals will soon be smoked out as they have no place to hide”.

The outspoken lawmaker of the 8th Assembly insist that despite the shenanigans of distractors and pockets of criminalities in the state, administration of Alh. Usman Ododo will continue to prioritize security of lives and property of the people while investment in the educational sector to consolidate on the land mark achievements of his immediate predecessor, Alh. Yahaya Bello remain unshaken.
