The All Progressives Congress (APC) Kogi East Senatorial Candidate, Dr. Joseph Ameh Erico, has expressed deep sadness over the reported death of former Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Ibrahim Idris.
In a statement issued by Hon. Matthew Ochada, his Chief Press Secretary, Erico described the former governor’s death as a painful loss to Kogi State and Nigeria
Erico paid a condolence visit to the Abuja residence of the deceased, where he met with members of the family, associates and other sympathisers who had gathered to mourn the former governor.
During the condolence visit, Chief Erico commiserated with the family and prayed for strength and comfort for them at what he described as a difficult moment.
He also acknowledged the contributions of the late former governor to the political and developmental history of Kogi State, noting that his years in public office left an important mark on the state.
Chief Erico urged the family, friends and associates of the deceased to take solace in his years of service to the state and the people, while calling on them to remain united in the face of the loss.
He offered prayers for the repose of the soul of the former governor and for God to grant the bereaved family the fortitude to bear the loss.
