Chairman, United Labour Congress (ULC), Kogi state council, Comrade Opaluwa Eleojo Simeon has called on the state government to mandate banks in the state to make provision for sanitizer at their respective automated teller machine (ATM) points.

In a statement issued in Lokoja on Monday, Opaluwa noted that it is essential to take precautionary measures to curb the spread of Coronavirus.

The labour leader hailed Kogi state government for pro-active steps taken so far to ensure the state is safe and secured from the deadly pandemic.

“Going by the measures taken so far by the state government, aimed at preventing the outbreak of the deadly Coronavirus, we wish to suggest that the state government issue an Executive Order directing all banks to provide hand sanitizers in all the ATM points in the state to curb the spreading of the deadly COVID-19 in the state.

“We have observed that with the rate of patronage at ATM points, it one of the fastest means of spreading the virus,” he said.
