The Special Adviser on Public Communications to Elder Leke Abejide, member representing Yagba federal constituency in the House of Representatives, Bashiru Abdul Mohammed (BAM), has congratulated the lawmaker on his sweeping victory at the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary election.
Abejide, the incumbent representative of the constituency and a third-term aspirant, secured victory across all 34 wards where the primary election was conducted on May 16, 2026, defeating fellow contender, Hon. Babagbemi Adejola.
Speaking with journalists shortly after the exercise, BAM described the outcome as a resounding endorsement of Abejide’s leadership, grassroots connection, and sustained developmental interventions across the constituency.

He commended APC delegates, stakeholders, supporters, and members of the Leke Abejide political structure for their commitment and loyalty throughout the primary process, noting that the landslide victory reflected the confidence reposed in the lawmaker by the people of Yagbaland.
According to him, the result further demonstrated the widespread acceptance of Abejide’s representation and the growing support base of the APC within the federal constituency ahead of the next general election.
BAM also urged party loyalists and supporters to intensify mobilisation efforts and remain united ahead of the 2027 general elections to ensure the lawmaker’s return to the Green Chamber for another term.
“The primary election may have been concluded, but the real task begins now. We must consolidate on this victory, deepen grassroots engagement, and work collectively towards delivering an even bigger mandate for RT. Hon. Leke Abejide at the general elections,” he stated.
