A women group, Career Women of Ajaokuta (CWA) has declared their support for the House of Representatives ambition of the council chairman of Ajaokuta Local Government, Aloysius Okino.
In a statement by the leader of the group, Hon. Sefiya Oyibo said as chairman of the council, Okino has justified the mandate given to him by the people of the area particularly the women.
According to her the chairman has sincerely used his position to attract the dividends of democracy to the women, saying that they are going to give an overwhelming support.
Oyibo noted that in line with the activities of president Goodluck Jonathan and the Governor of Kogi state, Capt. Idris Wada, through the appointment of women into key political positions.
The achievements she said includes progressive women empowerment programme, provision of primary healthcare, construction of market stores and bursary award to indigent students in the area.
While maintaining that the chairman has done well to deserve a higher responsibility, she said that the provision of free cooking kerosene has reduced the suffering of the women tremendously.
“Through all these, he has positively impacted on the lives of our women. Therefore the only way to appreciate his good work is to give him a higher responsibility for more dividends of democracy”
