We should not be apologetic about owning an Agenda, be it political, economic or developmental….The Igala Nation deserves a clearly articulated Agenda with clearly marked out priorities respected by all.

Majority of the people believe in the  Igala agenda but a few who need further education jump to condemn it instead of asking for clarification or better still own it as theirs. This is worrisome.

When we speak about the Economic agenda of the Igala Nation, this people will jump at it and agree with every term to achieve an economic template for the Igala people.

When we discuss Igala Developmental Agenda, this set will buy it wholesale and even make theoretical contributions to achieving it. But when we mention Igala Political Agenda, this set will want to hang anyone who mentioned such because they have affinity with the present government of Kogi State.

Why do you agree to us having economic, development and every other agenda but frown at the Igala Nation having a political agenda knowing all other agenda is tagged to political prosperity to come to reality?

On the political front, no Igala man in his right senses should accept to play second fiddle in Kogi State… Its a curse!

For starters, politics is a game of numbers, with our numerical strength something must be wrong with our brains if we loose that advantage to far smaller groups in any guise. 2015 was an act of God. 2019 must not go any other way.

Secondly, we were in Benue for so many years,  and we saw what happened there, and what still happens there till date… Governorship is unapologetically the exclusive preserve of the Tiv Nation till tomorrow.

Thirdly, go and check our history and our contributions to this country Nigeria… We have paid our dues and deserve to own a political unit of the state.

Until we own the political entity called a state… The Igala Race will not be take seriously in the National scheme of things, hence, Kogi State should not go any other way.

And this is without prejudice to the other tribes. We love them and respect them and advocate that they be treated well and developed. However, No man cedes his bedroom to his neighbour just to be assumed nice!

Having Political Agenda is not a New thing to the Igala people and any other tribe in Nigeria.

The North have their own Agenda to take back Presidency, pursued it and succeeded and are even ready to cling to it beyond 2023

The West have their Agenda, they are forming alignment here and there to prosecute their agenda.

The South have their agenda and they are scheming to have it actualised using different fora including Ohianeze Ndigbo and many others.

Even in Kogi State, the Power Shift agitation was the agenda of the Central and Western senatorial districts. Nobody was against it because we all know it is their rights to have an agenda. They pursued it and today circumstances gave it to Yahaya Bello whom even the agitators are not proud of today.

Why an Igala man with his brains intact will be against the Igala people who constitute more than 58% of the population of the state having an agenda is what I am yet to fathom out.

Those who are already compromised for the food in their mouth need to maintain table manners, that is understandable. We do not need everybody to draw the Igala political agenda, we only need the majority which we already have.

However, it is incumbent on all Igala sons and daughters to be part of the Igala agenda that brings development to the land which also involves an Igala man in the leadership saddle.

November 2019 is a month of personal sacrifices. You are going to miss it when you refuse to personalize and own this agenda of the Igala people as yours.

We have very good brains with competency and capacity to deliver good governance to Kogi State, let us all rally round one of them and support for posterity purposes.

Make a personal decision in the best interest of the land today and start working to achieving results.

– Comrade Maji Isah
Clerk of Council, Ojuju Agbadufu Igala
