The family of the late former Governor of Kogi State and Jakadan Sokoto, Alhaji Ibrahim Idris (IBRO), CON, has announced that the 8th Day Fidau Prayers in his honour will hold on Sunday, 27th September 2026, at multiple locations across Abuja and Kogi State.
A statement issued by Dr. Musa Ahmadu on behalf of the Ibro Political Family said the main prayer session in Abuja will take place by 9:00 a.m. at the deceased’s residence, No. 97 Kwame Nkrumah Crescent, Asokoro.
The statement said that to accommodate the large number of sympathisers, family members, political associates and well-wishers who wish to participate, the family has decentralised the prayers to hold simultaneously in six other towns on the same day.
According to the statement, prayers will also be observed at the Ibro family houses in Abejukolo, Idah and Anyigba, all by 2:00 p.m., as well as at the Ojede Central Mosque in Ankpa, also by 2:00 p.m. In Lokoja, the prayers will hold at the Central Mosque by 10:00 a.m., while worshippers in Koton Karfe will gather at the Ekpachi Mosque by 8:00 a.m.
The family expressed gratitude to all those who have shown love, solidarity and support since the passing of the former governor, and called on Nigerians to continue to remember him in their prayers.
The statement prayed that Almighty Allah forgive the shortcomings of the late Idris and grant him Aljannatul Firdaus.
Alhaji Dr. Ibrahim Idris served as Governor of Kogi State and was a prominent political figure widely regarded within his home state and beyond before his death.
