Your Excellency, please accept my warm congratulations over your victory in the just concluded gubernatorial election and subsequent celebrations to mark your one hundred days in office. It was indeed another milestone in the history of our state, a historical win for you and the majority of the people of Kogi State.

I want to, first of all, commend you for your unparalled dedication in providing social amenities in Kogi State since assuming office despite the daunting challenge of economic turmoil. It is correctly acknowledged that almost every life of Kogi State citizens have been positively affected by your administration’s developmental project, provision of social amenities and rehabilitation of infrastructures.

However, I wish to remind you that those of us who hail from Agbokete (in Akpanya District) and Odolu; all in Igalamella/Odolu Local Government Area of the state, are suffering ranging from the lack of good road, to the unavailability of electricity.

We have spent a fortune on poles, cables, transformers and contractors’ fee. This resulted to the availability of electricity in Agbedo, Oji-Akpanya and Ogboligbo Communities.

Sir, we crave for your mercy to help us extend the light from Agbedo through Agbokete to Odolu communities. This is as a result of the fact that our population has been tormented and is the primary reason for unnecessary grief that has remained within us for a very long time. We are living in darkness in an age of light and enlightment.

Moreso, the issue of the untarred Akpanya – Odolu road has remained a menace to the people of this area since time immemorial.

The road was awarded to “PW” construction company by the Federal Government of Nigeria during the regime of the former President, Dr. Ebele Goodluck Jonathan and has since been abandoned .

In the wake of the recent intensive rainfall, Akpanya – Odolu road has become a pertinent matter requiring urgent lasting solution. The sound of rushing rainfall remains an impediment to the well-being of your people who call on your help. You would agree with me that any town deprived of good road will be outgunned of innumerable social amenities.

In addition, I wish to end with another plea for our Youths . I wish to let you know that our area is ready to begin enjoying the benefits of your Youth employment and empowerment program.

We have a good number of graduates, and their numbers are multiplying rapidly. A well planned government intervention and a modest financial or institutional assistance will go a long way in curbing the menace of idleness and apathy.

Conclusively, we are confident that your government is a working government that tries to alleviate the suffering of the masses. We thus pray that you will bring relief to us soon as your tenure has already started.

May God continue to grant you the vision for prosperity, even as you act in equity.
