Few weeks after accusing a federal lawmaker, Hon. James Abiodun Faleke, of working against All Progressives Congress (APC), Kogi West Conscience, a sociopolitical group, has called on the party chairman in the state, Hon. Abdullahi Bello to steps that will protect the party beyond 2023.

In a statement issued by the national president, Ademola Bakare, on Wednesday, the group said APC leaders in Yagba West local government are engaging in anti-party activities with reckless abandon.

Ademola insisted that anti-party activities among APC leaders is worst in Yagba West local government.

The group submitted that the House of Assembly member representing Yagba West, Hon. Aderonke Aro is openly working against candidates of the party in the 2023 general elections.

They also fingered the Chairman Yagba West revenue collection, Hon. Tunji Aro. They added that Hon. Tunji Aro is the Deputy Director General APC Presidential Campaign Council (Kogi West).

They noted that the duo are hiding under Faleke and Tinubu/Shettima candidature to perpetrate devious anti-party activities in the local government.

He called the leadership of the party in the state to nip the crisis of confidence in the bud.

“After reviewing all petitions sent to our group from all seven local governments in Kogi West senatorial district, we discovered that anti-party activity is rife in Yagba West.

“Our report, based on findings, on anti-party activities in Kabba/Bunu/Ijumu will soon be made public. While Lokoja/Kogi will follow suit.

“A senior special assistant to the Governor, Hon. Toba Adebayo Belushi, is also fingered in anti-party affairs in Yagba West, while the status of Barr. Bamidele Suru is largely uncertain. We need to ask if Barr. Suru is still in APC or has defected to another party.

“This hydra headed monster called anti-party activities has eaten deep into the APC structure in Yagba West and if left unchecked, it may spell doom for the party at the 2023 polls.

“We have confidence in our electoral strength as demonstrated during the 2019 elections and we are fully ready to improve on our outing come 2023. However, if these leaders choose to continue with their anti-party activities, we will have no choice but reject their preferred presidential candidate at the polls,” he said.

Ademola stated that their consistent cries is to ensure APC is not fragmented but go into the polls as a united family.
