World Bank Donates 11 Hilux Vans, Motorcycles to Kogi

Four Toyota Hilux Vans and Eleven Motorcycles have been donated to Kogi state government by the World Bank Donor Agency, Public Sector Governance Reform and Development.

The donation is aimed at boosting the Kogi state Internal Revenue Generation Drive.

Receiving the items at Government House Lokoja, Governor Idris Wada declared that his commitment to good governance in the state is total in order to provide the people with the basic need for their comfort.

He noted that improved revenue generation of the state government was the only way to make this laudable objective of good governance realizable and appreciate the gesture of the donor agency to enhance the sector.

The Kogi state Commissioner for Finance, Mr. Alfa Zakari in a remark stressed the need for prompt payment of taxes by citizens of the state for the development of the state.

He noted that the state government’s Internal Revenue is critical in complementing the federal government support to the state.

Earlier, The Project Manager, Public Sector Governance Reform and Development, Mr. E.O Bayode had told the governor that the vehicles and Motor holes were donated to aid the state Board of Internal Revenue in its statutory function of raising revenue for the state.
