The Kogi State governor, Captain Idris Wada, on Monday announced the appointment of Prof. Olugbenro Jegede from Ogori-Magongo LGA and pioneer Vice Chancellor of the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), as the Secretary to the State Government.
Jegede replaced Alhaji Musa Ahmadu, who held the position since 2005.
In a statement, signed by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Media and Strategy, Jacob Edi, Jegede’s appointment was announced as taking immediate effect.
Jegede is the Secretary-General of the Association of African Universities, with headquarters in Accra.
According to the statement, the governor had also approved the appointments of four new special advisers and a senior special assistant.
They are Hajia Maimunat Ibrahim as Special Adviser on Healthcare; Idakwoji Ilemona as Special Adviser, Assembly and Legislative matters; and Talib Raji, Special Adviser, Legal Matters.
Others are Eric Fiki, Special Adviser on Policy and Political Affairs and Ahmed Jatto, Special Assistant on Physical Development and Environment.
