The Bible’s final warning is not that civilisation will collapse. It is that people may continue living normally while judgment approaches. They will build, trade, marry, celebrate and pursue tomorrow, convinced that tomorrow belongs to them. Then the door will close. Jesus said the days before His return would resemble the days of Noah, when warning existed but repentance did not.

Noah’s generation was not destroyed because nobody had been warned. It was destroyed because warning failed to alter conduct. That is the harder lesson for our age. A society can hear sermons and remain unchanged. Churches can overflow while consciences empty. People can speak endlessly about God while quietly negotiating with sin. Religious familiarity can become spiritually fatal when conviction no longer produces repentance.
Jesus therefore issued a command that leaves no room for complacency:
«“Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.”

Watchfulness is more than waiting. It is moral vigilance. It means refusing to call corruption cleverness, lust freedom, greed ambition, hatred conviction or dishonesty survival. Once a culture begins renaming its sins, it becomes increasingly difficult for that culture to repent of them. The most dangerous society is not one that has forgotten God completely, but one that remembers His name while resisting His authority.
Paul saw the same darkness approaching. He warned of people who would retain the appearance of religion while rejecting its transforming power. That warning should trouble every believer who has made Christianity a badge rather than a surrender, a profession rather than a practice, a public identity rather than a private obedience. God is not impressed by the appearance of holiness when the heart remains enthroned by rebellion.

And then Scripture brings the warning to its final point: Christ is coming. Not as an idea, metaphor or religious tradition, but as the returning King proclaimed by Scripture. When that day arrives, reputation will become irrelevant. Wealth will become powerless. Titles will become meaningless. Every defence built on status, influence and self deception will collapse before the judgment of God.

This is why the end time message is not entertainment, speculation or a calendar exercise. It is a summons to repentance. Nobody knows the hour. Nobody is guaranteed another opportunity. The question is not whether the world is ready for Christ. The question is whether you are ready. Put down the sin you keep defending. Abandon the compromise you keep excusing. Return to God while mercy still calls. The King is coming. The only wise response is to be ready.
