My name is Kelvin Oluseyi Eleta, a fellow Kogite like you. First of all, I will like to congratulate you on your swearing in as the Chairman of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, Kogi State Chapter. Seriously, congrats. You are like a shining light the youth of Kogi State are looking up to.

I don’t lick politicians shoe, neither do I seek for their attention. For quite a while, I’ve been following up on every of your activities. Don’t get me wrong, am not a stocker and neither do I envy you in anyway. In fact I don’t even have the time to stock myself. Mr. Chairman, from what I’ve observed, it’s clear to me that you meant well for the youths of our dear state. Without wasting any more time, I will go straight to the point and try to avoid all these long appraisal and the truth be told, I’m not even that good at it.

Mr. Chairman, you’ve got the mandate you agitated for and the youths of Kogi State are all looking up to you for good governance and good representative. Forgive me if am too blunt, but the burden you are feeling right now is cursed by no one. You craved for it, you campaigned for it and congrats, the burden is yours. The existence of the NYCN in Kogi State before now has been unpronounced. For the first time most youth in Kogi State get to know about its existence. Now that almost every Kogi youth are aware of this, it is now a challenge for you not to let us down. I have a burden. Am hurting because am aware of the level of corruption in our system. And that is why I chose to write you this letter.

I want to urge not to allow anyone or any system to push into compromising what you stand for. The youths have always been cheated. The only thing a youth is useful for in a society like ours is to be used by the Slave Masters (the so called old Politicians) as political thugs and errand boys. The youths of our beloved state have been hypnotized by the Slave Masters through various means not even worth mentioning. This issue might not be one of your agenda as the chairman, but I urge you to do what you can in this aspect. Even if you can’t address this, please don’t let anyone corrupt that office you are occupying. You are important to the youths of this state and your legacy matters a lot. I chose to call the old Politicians ‘Slave Masters’ because to any youth with his/her right senses, that’s what they are.

There are thousands of eyes watching you on a daily basis and we are fully aware of the way you are representing us. Let me speak for myself. ‘For now am ok with the way you are representing me’. Yes, I decided to make it personal. Mr. Chairman, please don’t be a political thug, don’t be a political tool to be used to cheat the good people of Kogi State. The youths of Kogi State needs a platforms, please give it to them. Continue representing us in the right way and we will all be proud of you. NYCN is not a political party, so please don’t make it one.

I wish you a good tenure as the Chairman of NYCN, Kogi State Chapter. I also wish you well in every of your future endeavor. Continue with the good work you’ve started and remain adamant in deviating.

Long live Nigeria, long live Kogi State, and long live NYCN
