A group of Kogi Youths of Okun extraction met in Lokoja on Wednesday to decide on how to solicit support for Governor Yahaya Bello’s second term in office.
The Convener of the meeting, an aspirant for Mopamuro Constituency in Kogi State House of Assembly, Julius Olushola Abel, while giving his opening remark said the motive of the meeting is to bring Okun Youths together for a common goal, emphasized the need for unity of the youths to achieve the goal of delivering Gov. Bello in the November 2019 Kogi gubernatorial elections.
Abel also advised against unnecessary division due to diverse political interest, he said politics should be left at what it is and not to be taken to attack personalities.
Ola Adekunle emphasized on the need to jettison hatred, backbiting and the need to embrace oneness for the collective interest of Okun Youths.
Ola also advised Okun Youths to shun social media attacks on Government/Public officials, especially those of Okun extraction in order to be able to demand for real empowerment.
Olayemi Calculus said there is no later comer in support for Gov. Bello as some persons posit, in order to deliver the Governor come 2019.
Other speakers who reiterated on the importance for the collectiveness of Okun Youths and their empowerment are Oloruntoba Moses Juwon, Omosona Olakunle, Adeleke Atteh, Sunday Paul, Oshatimehin Samuel Ekundayo, Amodu Abubakar, Samuel Oladele, Jacob Abraham Damilare and Ogbeni David Oni Sunday.
Okun Youths who are also present at the meeting are Anjorin Victor Daniel, Akinola Oluropo Babatunde, Aina Oladipo Michael, Olowosegun Raymond Ayomide and Adebayo Babatunde Paul.
Others are Olorunmbe Olorunjuwon, Alonge Temitope, Owah David and Barnabas, Olayinka O.
