Ogori Community to Honour 10 Distinguished Personalities with Presidential Awards

The Ogori Descendants’ Union (ODU) will confer its prestigious Presidential Awards on ten distinguished individuals in recognition of their outstanding contributions, exemplary leadership, and unwavering commitment to the development of Ogori community and society at large.

A statement signed by the Vice President and head of Communications, Ogori Descendants’ Union, Petra Akinti Onyegbule, said the award ceremony, to be presided over by the President of ODU, Dr. Gabriel O. Aiso, will hold on Friday, 17th April 2026 by 7:00 PM at the Civic Center, Ogori, as a major highlight of this year’s Ovia Osese festival.

The awardees include: Dr. Ayo Olayemi, CMD, Kogi State Hospital Management Board; Mr. Ayo Sumbo, Chief Felicia Ochefije Agbaire, Brig. Gen. Erema Akerejola (Rtd), Arc. Orayen Nathaniel Mosisuga, and Mrs. Mary Koffa.

Other are Mr. Anuwe Kenny, Dr. Nwosu Charles, Mrs. Daisy Mosugu, and Dr. Iyela Ajayi.

Akinti-Onyegbule said the Presidential Award is reserved for individuals whose achievements reflect excellence, integrity, and a deep sense of service, qualities consistently demonstrated by the awardees across various sectors whose impact has not only elevated the profile of Ogori but also inspired meaningful change within and beyond the community.

“The ceremony will serve as a platform to celebrate leadership, reinforce community values, and inspire a new generation of Ogori sons, daughters and friends of Ogori toward purposeful contribution,” she added.
