MDGS Under Wada Administration: Over 28 Primary Health Care Centers, 60 VIP Toilets, 67 Hand Pump Bore Holes Among Others

Over 28 Primary Health Care Centers, 60 VIP toilets, 67 hand pump bore holes and several surface water scheme, malaria and assorted hospital and furniture equipment have been executed and purchased successfully by the MDGs in the State under the present administration.

The Kogi State Deputy Governor, Yomi Awoniyi, stated this when he received in audience the management of the MDGs in his office.

Awoniyi disclosed that MDGs is one of the deliberate strategy the present administration intends using towards  reducing child mortality and improve maternal health.

Awoniyi, said the present administration will explore the benefits of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), in fast tracking development and improving the well-being of its people.

The Deputy Governor commended Capt. Idris Wada, the State Governor, for prompt response to the payment of its counterparts funding to organizations that are concerned about the welfare of children and women health.

He assured that the present administration of Capt. Idris Wada is resolute in bringing succor to the citizenry and in transforming the State.

In his remarks on the efforts of the present administration using MDGs in the eradication of poverty and hunger among the people, Yunusa Mohammed Nasir, Special Adviser to the Kogi State Governor on MDGs and Kogi State Focal Person, said the scheme is concentrating on the provision of bore holes, primary health care and rehabilitation of schools as areas of priorities. The MDGs scheme the Special Adviser noted has assisted in improving the lives of the citizenry through the prompt payment of its counterpart funds.

Alhaji Yunusa, said several of the MDGs projects inherited are nearing completion assured that several measures have been put in place to ensure that projects under the State MDGs are delivered in good time.
