The Kogi State Chapter of National Youth Council of Nigeria election was held on 27th of May. It is fact that Comrade Oladele John Nihi was an epidemic in the election.

Epidemic in the sense that his candidacy makes the NYCN contagious to most novice in Kogi State and Nigeria, within the political and non political class in a short period of electioneering.
Reasons are; Oladele John Nihi’s personality and antecedents, the youth rebirth campaign team, and seeming endorsement from the “powers that be”. These are the reasons Oladele John Nihi got supports and oppositions differently. These germane factors were as observed by me, Abel Julius, from various reliable quarters.
First, Oladele John Nihi’s personality and antecedents; this is actually the nugget that is most critical pro and against Oladele John Nihi’s ambition; it is also one that I, have learnt from. This has to do with his Senatorial District, Federal Constituency (more importantly) and Local Government.
Records on how he participated as aspirant for President, National Association of Okun Students, Kogi State University Chapter some years back. Records on how he became the pioneer Speaker, Kogi State University Students Union Government some years back. Records on how he was patriotically a known critic of the New Direction of Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State and through his intervention in the Kogi State House of Assembly crisis he became a pro of same New Direction administration.
Secondly, the youth rebirth campaign team and her strategies. As a politician, the campaign strategies obtained by the said team is one I would and could adopt if I happen to be contesting in partisan politics most recently. The youth rebirth team is actually a team of full capacity in her entirety. Personally and closely, I have observed the Director General, and the Director General on Media of the campaign team of Nihi’s aspiration; in persons of Henry Francis Folaranmi and Abdulkerim Haruna respectively.
Other members of the youth rebirth did far more than the two mentioned above collectively. In other words, the youth rebirth sold their sell-able candidate like he was not sell-able.
If the youth rebirth strategy were to be the strategy to be adopted for the administration of NYCN of Oladele John Nihi at winning election or not, then NYCN is a success.
Thirdly, the seeming endorsement from the “power that be”. The perceived endorsement from the “power that be” is also one that must be keenly looked into. It’s a point to learn from as youths, either we like it or not.
The perceived public declaration in support of Comrade Oladele John Nihi from top government appointees is one all Kogi and Nigeria youths must from learn from. Such supports should have been left at the level assumptions and rumors for political and social reasons. Some persons, group(s) and association(s) actually came mostly against Oladele John Nihi for this reason.
The position of some concerned Kogi Youths is/are that; “…why should a NYCN Candidate have godfather or support from the incumbent Government? Isn’t it the same wrongs we are trying to right as Nigeria and KOGI Youths? And so many other nuggets”. I am sure no sane mind will say or reason this youths are talking out place.
All these reasons are ones I am personally and directly aware and part of.
I am sure Oladele John Nihi must have removed the shaft from the wheat as regards every supports, critics, sycophancy, and hypocrisy – all of which are tools to effective governance and/or administration and above all to check himself of some doings and undoings.
Also, I admonish him not to see his oppositions as enemies; rather “friends in diaspora”.
It is worthy of note that I was perceived to be anti-Youth Rebirth at some point – this is actually normal, although a misconception of my position, and I have no regret or apology.
One main reason for such position is just to right the wrongs in our sociopolitical settings as Kogi and Nigeria Youths.
Also, Comr. Oladele John Nihi is on the right book of some prominent Kogi youths. Oladele John Nihi is now the Kogi NYCN Chairman-elect and we are hopeful for a successful inauguration.
Comrade Oladele John Nihi now have the ball in his court to score many and more goals as expected of him towards reviving and reorientating Kogi Youths to a better course. All expected of us as patriotic Kogi Youths is to pay our quota to his administration constructively in all ramifications.
Advises to Oladele John Nihi:
“To whom much is given, much more is expected”. As a youth and public leader, learn to conduct yourself as such.
Critics are like father(s) scolding his child/children; not on to damnation but success.

Concerned Kogi Youth.
