The Kogi State Government says it will make public the report of the just-concluded screening and verification of its work force on July 25.

Kingsley Fanwo, the Chief Press Secretary to the state Governor, Yahaya Bello, said this in a statement issued in Lokoja on Thursday.

Fanwo said the presentation of the report was to clear some wrong impressions in the mind of the national leadership of organised labour.

The statement said government took exception to the description of the administration of Governor Bello as labour unfriendly.

According to him, the Bello-led administration has within its six months in office paid the six months salaries to workers in the state.

“Government has never said there were no issues with some people accessing their salaries. But such issues are being handled by the authorities concerned,” he said.

Fanwo renewed the determination of the government to right the wrongs of the past, warning individuals and groups with vested interest to stop all acts of distraction.

He said: “Government is determined to reposition agriculture as the oil of Kogi State. The New Direction policy on agriculture will start yielding practical steps in the coming weeks and the people will love the initiative.”
