Kogi State local government election which has been put off several times as a result of paucity of funds may finally be held in April, sources have revealed.
The source said after the second anniversary in office of the present administration which has clearly shown the determination of the Yahaya Bello led government in Kogi State, the attention now is on the local government election.
Leadership checks reveal that the administrators and party leaders have been put on alert to begin the process that could bring out the best for All Progressives Congress (APC), in the incoming election in Kogi State.
A source close to the seat of power in Lokoja, who craves anonymity told our correspondent in Lokoja yesterday that the governor, Alhaji Yahaya Hello, is very determined about the election of the council members.
The source further revealed that the administrators’ office may be scrapped any moment from now to create room for elective positions in major elections pointing out that any administrator who wishes to contest the elective post could indicate his intention through internal mechanism.
It would be recalled that Governor Bello on assumption of office in Luggard house, January 2016, appointed administrators to oversee the affairs of the local council in the 21 local government areas of the State.
