The Voice of Mopamuro Youth (VOMY) in Mopamuro local government, has lauded Gov. Yahaya Bello of Kogi, for his quick intervention on the river that changed its route and wrecked havoc in Orokere community.
In a press statement on Sunday in Lokoja, the President of the association, Mr Julius Abel, commended the Governor, the State Executive Council and all the political appointees from Yagba land for their intensive efforts.
He particularly eulogized the Director General Media, Mr Femi Fanwo, and the Special Adviser (SA) to Gov Bello on Youths and Students Affairs, Mr Deola Eseyin, for making Yagba people proud.
“The push by the DG was also a great plus for the progress, as he led a team of the Committee members from the State’s Ministries of Work and Environment to the site for inspection as directed by the governor.
“It is not an overstatement that our voices were heard and pushed further by Yagba appointees and other lovers of good governance in Kogi State.
“The Voice of Mopamuro Youths appreciates the State Government for their magnanimity in rising to responsibility and responding to our cry in earnest.
“As much as inspection and evaluation is important in the process of any project, execution is much more important. We plead that the execution should be a realised one.
“We also appreciate contribution from all quarters that enhanced our VOICE to be heard.
“In all, thanks to the New Direction Government for their swift response,” Abel said.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that a popular River in Effo-Amuro called “Ayamoho River” had changed its route into Kabba-Ilorin federal road at Takete- Idde junction in Orokere Amuro, and wrecked havoc on the community.
