The House of Representative Member representing Yagba Federal Constituency, Hon. Sunday Karimi moved a motion entitled “Lopsidedness in the Award of Federal Government Projects”.

The House adopted the resolution and mandated its Committee on Federal Character to investigate alleged lopsidedness in the award of contracts for federal government projects across the country.

Basing his argument on a recent report in a national daily Hon. Karimi had said that federal government projects were spread unevenly with 86 per cent representing N760 billion going to the South-South alone, while the North-Central got zero allocation.

Sunday said this was a breach of the Federal Character Act and called for an investigation to determine the truth or otherwise of the allegation.

The committee is expected to report to the House in two weeks.
