The Management of the Federal University Lokoja (FUL) has announced a postponement of its 10th Convocation Ceremony, shifting the event from Saturday, October 17, 2026, to Saturday, November 14, 2026.
The adjustment was detailed in an official circular dated September 22, 2026, signed by the University Registrar, Dr. Rebecca Amiohu Okojie, on behalf of Management. According to the institution, the change became necessary due to unforeseen circumstances, specifically the clash with the upcoming Kogi State Local Government Elections scheduled to hold on the original date.
Under the revised schedule, all activities for the 10th Convocation Ceremony will now take place at the University’s Main Campus located in Felele, Lokoja, Kogi State.
Expressing regret over the sudden shift, the institution extended its apologies to graduating students, parents, guardians, invited dignitaries, and other stakeholders for any inconvenience the adjustment might cause, while appealing for their patience and continued cooperation.
In a statement confirming the development, the Director of the Directorate of Strategic Communication and Corporate Documentation (DSCCD), Dr. Tosin Olagunju, reassured the university community and the general public that preparations for a hitch-free event remain on track.
Graduating students and key stakeholders have been advised to adjust their plans according to the new date. The university added that a full timetable of events for the convocation week will be released and distributed across official channels in due course.
