A Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Kogi State, Mallam Abdul Adama has commended the recent arrests of kidnappers and other criminals made by the Nigerian Army.
Adama made this known in a chat with newsmen in Abuja today.
He expressed confidence in the renewed effort by the military to rid Kogi State if criminals.
“The alarming rate of kidnapping and armed robbery, especially on our highways, is of great concern to all stakeholders in the state. But with the recent intervention of Nigerian Army culminating in the arrests of 17 criminals including 2 members of the dreaded Boko Haram and several kidnappers, our confidence is boosted”, he said.
“However, from reports, the highly commendable arrests were made around Kogi Central and Kogi West. I want appeal to the gallant military officers to extend their intervention to Kogi East. Kidnapping and armed robbery incidences within and around the eastern flank of the state is a growing menace that must be checked”.
He called on Kogi residents to assist the effort of Nigerian Army and Police force to make Kogi a safe place.
