Imam Abu-Bilalat  Urges Muslims to Emulate Teachings of Muhammad

The Chairman of JAMI’ATUL- DUATAL- ISLAMIYYA,and  Chief Imam of Kutepa Mosque, Sheikh Muhammad Yahaya Abu Bilat, has urged Muslims to emulate the life and teachings of Prophet Muhammad as they celebrate the Eid-el-Maulud festival.
The Chairman  made the called at the Maulid Nabiyi organized by Islamic organization, in Kabawa, Lokoja.
Bilat also called on all Muslims to use the opportunity of the Holy Prophet’s  birthday to reflect on the teachings of the Prophet who lived a life of piety, prayer and service to God and humanity.
He admonished the adherents of the Islamic faith to rededicate themselves to upholding the injunctions of the Holy Quran in their personal lives and in their relationship with others.
Abu Bilat who is the chairman of the leagues, used the opportunity to thanked those who contributed to the success of the event,however singled out the Deputy Majority leader House of representatives and member representing Lokoja/ Kogi Federal constituency, Rt. Hon. Umar Buba Jibril who he described as a philanthropist and pillar of propagations of Islam.
He commended the His Royal Highest the Maigari of Lokoja, Alhaji (Dr) Muhammad Kabir Maikarfi 111,who was ably represented by the Waziri of Lokoja,Alhaji Babakorun idi Baba’ango.
In his our  message to ,Rt. Hon. Umar Buba Jibril On his part, appealed to Muslims,especially the youths to emulate Prophet Muhammad’s shining virtues of compassion, tolerance and commitment to peace.
Buba reminded his fellow Muslims that the greatest honour they could do to Prophet Muhammad( saw),was to practise his positive examples.
He said the Maulud celebration should be an occasion for sober reflection and a reminder “of our duty to be good ambassadors of Islam.
As Muslims observe the occasion,the lawmaker  advised them to rededicate ourselves to the noble virtues and exemplary life of  Prophet Muhammad.
In his own remarks,Dr.Rajab Na’ibi,enjoined Muslims, especially the Youths  to imbibe the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) and strive to live with one another in peace and harmony.
He said just like the birth of the Prophet in Mecca ushered in a new dawn for humanity, Muslims should view the occasion of this year’s Maulud Nabiyyi as an opportunity for a new beginning for the country.
“I believe that we will make progress towards the realisation of our shared vision of a strong, united and prosperous nation if our people imbibe the prophet’s virtues of peace, tolerance, honesty, selflessness, sincerity, justice, equity and peaceful co-existence,” he said.
Other speaker include:Rear Admiral Ibrahim Dirisu( Rtd),who chaired the occasion.
The event was attended by dignitaries in and outside Lokoja.
Those in attendance are the acting Chief Imam of Lokoja,Malam Aminu Shaaba, traditional rulers,Islamic clerics,and a host of others.
