Yuletide: NLP Emphatize With Kogi People

This season, it has been more reflective for me. Thinking about the pains, agony and dampened hope that has dotted my beloved state.

I’m not blind to the fact that some might not have anything to celebrate the Christmas largely because the government hasn’t worked for them. Many are languishing without the fruits of their labour.
I’m  not oblivious of the fact that things are very very hard for some families and individuals especially in a state where nothing is working.
I understand there are people who are going through tough times because businesses are failing. This is not unconnected with bad governance as we currently have it in the state.
If you’re going through difficult times at this moment, understand that these things will pass. They are not meant to last forever.
Remember not to think of all the misery but of the beauty that still remains. Because sometimes the dreams that comes through are the dreams you never knew you had.
If you’re lucky enough to be with the people you love and care about and you have enough to go round, spare a thought for those who don’t.
And in the middle of this is a ray of hope that truly, unto us there was a birth, unto us a saviour was born. These pains, these disappointments, these treachery are all signs of labour and the future will birth to us something new. Let the hope of this bright new future fill our hearts as we refuse to be bitter but rejoice this season, let our hearts leap with joy and our lips covered with smile as we dream of a new Kogi State.
Indeed, this is one Christmas that has come with merry even if reality points otherwise. God sees our heart, God hears our cries and in answer, he has given us a new Birth.
Merry Christmas
