ICDA Calls for Unity, Early Preparation for 2022 National Population Census

The National Caretaker Committee Chairman of Igala Cultural Development Association (ICDA), Comrade Omattah Enemona Emmanuel, urged people of Igala ethnic nationality to speak in one voice for the kingdom’s glory to be restored in this year 2022.

Also, he appealed to Igala speaking people to take the upcoming 2022 population census exercise in the country with utmost seriousness it deserved to correct misconceptions of the past in order to enhance the population strength of the tribe.

Comrade Omata made these known during in his new year message to Igala people made available to journalists in Lokoja on Saturday on a way forward in the present day equation in Kogi state.

While he expressed gratitude to God Almighty for His love and care for Igala nation through out the year 2021, the former state Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) chairman urged all Igala people to tow the path of peace and honour in this new year for the lost glory of the land to be restored.

“As we enter year 2022, may God raise men and women with strong voice for Igala nation,” he said.

He urged Igala sons and daughters to cooperate with the officials of the National Population Commission (NPC) as it plans to conduct national population census exercise in the 2nd quarter of 2022.

“We all know the importance of a national headcount for development. We wish all Igala sons and daughters a happy and prosperous new year. Long live Igala Nation,” he stressed.

He noted that the Igala people will not achieve their desired goals if divisive interest of very few in the kingdom is still allowed to rear its ugly heads in the land.

He congratulated the new Ata Igala, His Royal Majesty, Alaji Mathew Opaluwa Ogwuche Akpa II for his pragmatic decisions so far that is aimed at restoring love, cooperation, peace and progress in Igala kingdom; wishing him a good health and wisdom to pilot the affairs of Igala nation to an enviable heart under his reign.
