A frontline politician in Kogi state, Dr. Toyin Akanle, has reiterated his commitment to the welfare of the people and all round development.

Speaking with newsmen on his birthday in Isanlu-Makutu on Monday, Dr. Akanle said he is still very active in politics.

He said whether one is occupying a public office or not, the need to lift people will continue to tie him to politics.

“I may not be actively involved in politics in the sense of seeking elective positions. However, I am not quiet in politics but I don’t make noise. There is hardly any week that I am not doing something new.

“We have to continue to left people. I am a beacon that people can follow because I am a light that can shine into the darkness.

“However, there are times and seasons. A wise man will obey the dictates of times and seasons. And there is an appointed time for all things. You have to do things at the appointed time.

“I cannot quit politics,” he said.

Speaking on his sojourn in life, Dr. Akanle expressed profound gratitude to God and people who have made impact in his life.

“I feel fulfilled. I am happy with myself. But, I will continue to ask for more because I have a covenant with God, to supply all my needs according to His riches in glory.  God has been so faithful to me. He has been very kind to me.

“Coming from a very lowly background and being who I am now, I want to thank God and a lot of people I passed through to be where I am today.

“I am happy with myself and the people I move with. There are certain things God has done for me that I don’t know how it happened. I couldn’t have asked for more.

“I am thankful and know it is imperative to continue to lift people up,” he said.

Dr. Akanle said starting from Sunday (yesterday), he has dedicated days to thank God for His faithfulness.
