Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, has commended the Tricycle Owners Association of Nigeria (TOAN), Kogi State Chapter, for its commitment to progressive engagement, responsible transportation and the fight against insecurity.
The Governor gave the commendation while responding to the address presented by the association’s State Chairman, Comr. Ahmed Sediq, during an engagement held at the Banquet Hall of the Government House, Lokoja.

Governor Ododo described TOAN members as progressive-minded people, noting that he had initially prepared to appeal to their conscience on the need to support the right course. However, he observed that the association’s presentation had already demonstrated its commitment to responsible leadership and constructive partnership with government.
He commended the association for its various initiatives, particularly its willingness to collaborate with government and security agencies in addressing insecurity and promoting safer transportation across the state.

The Governor also responded to several requests presented by the association, addressing some immediately while providing updates on other areas where his administration had already commenced interventions and was working towards possible solutions.
In a significant development, Governor Ododo accepted TOAN’s offer to serve as the Grand Patron of the association, further strengthening the relationship between the state government and tricycle operators.
The engagement also featured the presentation of customised campaign T-shirts by TOAN, bearing messages of support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Ododo’s political continuity. The association presented the T-shirts to Governor Ododo for official unveiling as part of its campaign mobilisation efforts. TOAN also presented a Sienna vehicle to support its proposed campaign activities.
Furthermore, the Governor pledged the state government’s partnership and support towards the association’s proposed Keke Riders Day and Ododo-Tinubu Endorsement Rally, expressing readiness to work with TOAN in advancing programmes that promote responsible transportation, political collaboration, unity and development.
The meeting provided an opportunity for constructive dialogue and strengthened the bond between the state government and TOAN, reinforcing a shared commitment to security, members’ welfare and sustainable development.
The meeting ended on a positive note, with the Governor’s acceptance of the Grand Patron offer, the presentation of campaign materials and his pledge of partnership marking significant milestones in the relationship between TOAN and the Kogi State Government.
