Member representing Yagba federal constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Leke Abejide, has congratulated Ibikunle Idowu on his victory at the just concluded House of Assembly election in Yagba West constituency.

In a statement issued on Sunday, Abejide expressed gratitude to Yagba West electorate for standing firm to ensure the African Democratic Congress (ADC) was not robbed of its victory.

Abejide, who was reelected into the House of Representatives for a second term during the February 25 elections, said his party, ADC, won the House of Assembly elections for Yagba East seat as well but was robbed.

“Let me use this medium to let you know ADC won Yagba East State Assembly election and God willing we shall reclaim our mandate.

“We have videos and pictorial evidences of how they used guns and thugs to harm our agents to almost kill him with our supporters. They drove away INEC officials when they saw we were winning landslide and later brought only INEC officials back to thumbprint whatever they liked for themselves only without any of our Agents and supporters present!

Electoral Act 2022 is very clear and unambiguous on what to do on such polling units. I am going to write to Chairman of INEC officially attaching those evidences to do the needful as it is against the Electoral Act 2022 which I know INEC will do Justice to it,” he said.

Abejide appealed to ADC supporters not to join anyone in Yagba East APC to create crises they are known for which manifested in Ejuku Ward and Ward 09 in Isanlu.

“God willing the two LGAs of Yagba East and Yagba West where we won will remain with us.”
