Hon Zacharias Sues for Peace Ahead of Saturday Kogi Guber Poll

The lawmaker commended steps so far taken by the traditional rulers in the state, especially in the local governments that make up the federal constituency in ensuring that peace is enthroned in the build-up to the elections.

He stated: “Like one big family, irrespective of the political position we might have taken on the coming election, we must ensure that all our words, thoughts and actions should be to develop our local governments and state in particular.

“While we try on our own party to ensure that nobody is victimized on the basis of his political creed, I equally appeal to the opposition parties to reciprocate this gesture.

“I want to enjoin you and call upon you to please ensure that we all imbibe the spirit that only the living can participate in politics, and enjoy the dividends of democracy.”

He added, “The beauty of democracy is that the people will always be the winner and loser should anything contrary to the ideal happens in an election.”

It was the view of the lawmaker that all constituents fill out peaceful to vote and ensure that their vote count as that is the only most civilised way to go.

In another development, Zacharias has called on his constituents to massively vote for candidates of the APC, incumbent governor Yahaya Bello and his deputy, Edward Onoja in the election.

Zacharias added that their joint ticket would bring development to Igala land; ensure that more younger people get appointments as well consolidate on the gains so far made.

He said the ongoing Ejule-Umomi to Idah roads as well as the recently flagged off Idah Agenebode bridge a projects the constituency will be grateful to see them come to reality, noting that the return of Yahaya Bello will be of greater advantage to the fortunes of the projects and other dividends due the constituency.
