Politicians come in different colours and flavours and all of these characters strive to form a government. Woe betides that land so governed if there are no patriots therein to talk. The article credited to me and published by Kogi reports on February 9, 2017, directed at my local government administrator, Hon. Moses Olorunleke where I challenged his leadership style was not only critical,  it was conscious, deliberate and borne out of a genuine concern that my people deserve more than what they were getting.
In the words of Ron Paul,  “real patriotism is a willingness to challenge the government when it is wrong”. As a growing unionist, I have inculcated that habit in me and I have unapologetically spoken truth to power, as this is a virtue I believe is needed for a progressive society to be nurtured. Be that as it may,  I am amenable to the fact that dynamism in power and governance can improve the gains and welfare of the people. There is nothing more exciting than a comeback story.
Indeed,  a lot has changed since my publication. If you subscribe to the fact that a change of thought is what is needed to change one’s society, then you will agree with me that Hon.  Moses Olorunleke not only manifest this saying,  he has embodied it much to the betterment of our people.  He is a leader who has had a sombre introspection, assess himself,  appreciate the flaws he sees and took a bold step to make amends.  This to me is the hallmark of a true leader and a virtue that is rare and must be appreciated when seen.
If these lips of mine won’t fail to be critical when it sees flaws,  it will definitely speak out with equal decibels when it sees true change and demonstrable action in governance.  Thank God I am not the only one seeing this, everywhere you go in Kabba/Bunu LGA,  stories are told of the ‘Moses of our time’. Our people have seen leadership in action and they appreciate it. I have been inundated with calls from people at home who won’t stop talking about the gains of the New Direction Government steered by our very own Moses. In the words of a friend who preferred anonymity, “Moses is a newbie; the plight of his people is his most prioritized agenda.  In fact,  I will support him for the Chairmanship position in the upcoming LG elections”.
I wouldn’t want to dabble into the upcoming chairmanship election but from all indications,  our people have never had a leader like Hon. Moses Olorunleke, I will suggest to all Kabba/Bunu sons and daughters – home and abroad,  to open their eyes to this realization, come and see for yourselves, make calls and hear the good news of the ‘Moses of our time’, catch up with the community development and projects embarked upon by the administrator from Mr. Ogbeni Samuel Oladele’s daily blogs and I am sure that you will join the retinue of converts like me who have come to acknowledge the fact that truly,  Kabba/Bunu is being repositioned for greatness by Hon. Moses Olorunleke’s distinguished leadership.
Happy New Month..
