Kogi state commissioner for works and housing, Engr. Abubakar Ohere has expressed sadness over the death of Hon. Salihu Adaviruku, the former Chairman of Adavi local government council.

In his condolence message signed on Thursday, Ohere said Adaviruku’s demise is a big loss to Adavi local government and Kogi state at large.

The commissioner described Adaviruku as a fine gentleman, a loyal party man and a committed democrat, who had a deep understanding of local government administration and the political landscape.

“Hon. Adaviruku was an extremely loyal politician and an invaluable asset to the state. He started his political journey with lots of zeal, determination and remained in the fold until his unfortunate exit yesterday.

“Hon. Salihu Adaviruku is a nice gentleman and a humble politician whom I have had the privilege of working closely with as an elected chairman during my sojourn at the ministry of local government and chieftaincy affairs.

“There is no doubting the fact that he would be missed by the entire political class, particularly his immediate family, the entire people of Adavi local government and the state as a whole,” Ohere said.
